Design Museum celebrates Helsinki Day (on Sunday 11 June & Monday 12 June) with free admission to the museum and with Event Courtyard at Museums
Event Courtyard at Museums on Sunday 11 June & Monday 12 June, 14-18
At the Event Courtyard between the Museum of Finnish Architecture and the Design Museum you can help design our urban space together with professional designers. This event invites people of all ages to work together. The key words are “recycling” and the “joy of doing”!
The Event Courtyard is part of a two-day Makerspace event in which adults and young people work in the courtyard with textiles and wood. The work utilises various methods for shaping, dismantling and reconstructing. The event is part of the museums’ “Fashion Revolution” and “Broken or Not” projects, which highlight the ethical, ecological and consumer aspects of production while challenging us to consider what creates meaningful space and Hesa-SAFA. The act of working together invites a discussion about common spaces and communality. A DJ will set the mood with cool music throughout the event. The event takes place over two days: Sunday 11 June 14-18 and Monday 12 June 14-18. Participation on a non-stop basis as space becomes available.
