This year the Kaj Franck Design Prize 2019, is granted to the team of six partners at the design agency Aivan: Jarkko Jämsén, Minka Koukkunen, Aleksi Kuokka, Antti Mäkelä, Aki Suvanto, and Saku Sysiö.
Aivan is a multidisciplinary design agency founded in 2007. Its essential areas of business include brand and space design, product design, and strategic design. The prize exhibition will open at the Design Museum´s Gallery on November 8th.
The Kaj Franck Design Prize honors the spirit and principles of the work of designer Kaj Franck (1911–1989) regarding high-standard, democratic and functional design for solving practical challenges and creating new opportunities for firms and companies applying design skills. The prize is awarded annually in November to a Finnish or Finnish-based designer or designer team. It has been awarded since 1992 by Design Forum Finland and the Finnish Fair Foundation.
