The Design Museum pays special attention to safety: cleaning procedures have been intensified and the use of a facial mask is required for everyone in the museum over the age of 12. We will ensure that hand sanitizer will be available throughout the museum visit. Safety distancing during the museum visit is also a must!

Iittala – Kaleidoscope: From Nature to Culture, open until 19 September 2021.
The Design Museum invited architect Florencia Colombo and industrial designer Ville Kokkonen to create the concept for, research and curate an exhibition on the 140-year history of world-renowned Finnish design brand Iittala. Glass and adored design classics take the spotlight in this exhibition. The exhibition brings the history of Iittala in together in one place in an unforeseen manner and reflecting with intensity the complex developments of Finnish society. The exhibition was covered in a weekend issue of Financial Times in an extensive article a few weeks ago. The exhibition that takes a multi-layered look into the history of Iittala is finally able to welcome visitors.
Utopia Now – The Story of Finnish Design
The exhibition of the permanent collection of the Design Museum brings the history of Finnish design alive with stories that utilize modern technology and digital platforms. The exhibition shows the key role of design in the development of the Finnish society.
Comfort Revolution, open until 29 August 2021
The Finnish design brand Nanso turns 100 this year. As specialists in clothing and home textiles, the company’s history is deeply intertwined with these fashion trends. The Comfort Revolution exhibition will examine changes in the way we dress through nightwear, undergarments and lounge wear, and how these changes reflect social developments and phenomena. The themes of comfort and wellbeing are explored through Nanso’s collections and historical archives. The exhibition is curated by street’s style photographer, journalist, and the founder of Gem-vintage application Liisa Jokinen.

Design Shop and Taito Café
The museum café and shop are open within the opening hours of the museum. Stop by the museum café for soup or salad lunch, available daily! No pre-booking is required for the café that observes all required Covid-19 restrictions, including restrictions on the number of guests.
