In the exhibition The joy of design and entrepreneurship 1.10.2024–1.3.2025, you will get to know the competition entries from the previous season.
Yritys Hyvä [Good Effort!] is a Finnish national competition for children and young people that aims to inspire entrepreneurship. In the competition, participants are encouraged to freely come up with bold ideas, use their imagination and think about things from completely new perspectives. Yritys Hyvä has five competition categories: pre- and primary education; grades 3–6; grades 7-9; upper secondary education; and trainee teachers.
Yritys Hyvä and the Design Museum have been cooperating since 2019. Since then, the competition has incorporated a design-related task in every category. In honour of the merger of the Design Museum and the Museum of Finnish Architecture, the 2025 competition task is related to design and the built environment.
There are many ways to participate
It’s easy to participate in the competition, because you can choose the competition task that you find interesting! In addition to design, the tasks can include envisioning a sustainable future, planning one’s own business enterprise, or making a promotional video. You can participate in the competition in your free time, or at school. All participants, including their instructors, who submit an entry to the competition, will receive a participation award.
The winning entries will be awarded scholarships of 100–1000 euros.
The contents and tasks of the competition are compatible with different school subjects. The tasks have taken into account the national curriculum, multidisciplinary learning units, and transversal competence. The tasks are presented in Finnish, but competitors can participate in Finnish, Swedish or English.
