Design Museum offers a unique learning environment for people of all ages who are interested in design. We want to present design in broad perspective to different audiences and to tell of its importance as part of our environment.
The museum welcomes groups of schoolchildren, families with children, students, senior citizens and parties of visitors from workplaces – everyone who is interested in design.

Children and families
Design Birthday parties for Children
Give a memorable birthday party for children at Design Museum with an exhibition visit, a design workshop session and delicious treats.
Duration: 2 hours. Price: Tue-Sat, 250 € / group + admissions (20/12/0 € /person), Sun, 400 € / group + admissions (20/12/0 € /person) (includes workshop session and the hire of the Studio). Group size: Max. 12 (with one adult per every five children). Catering: Either via the museum café or visitors may bring their own food and beverages.

For teachers
Design Museum offers day-care centres, schools and other educational institutions a wide range of workshops, guided visits and various educational packages.
MUSEUM VISITS
Museum visits are free of charge for under 18-year-olds and teachers accompanying groups of pupils or students.
Please inform the museum’s guide-booking service for self-guided tours, tel. +358 9 6220 540, 8 – 11 a.m. at other times to info@designmuseum.fi.
Please register at the ticket counter when you arrive at the museum. Backpacks and outdoor clothing are to be left in the lockers and coat rack on the first floor.
Please remain with your group of pupils or students during the visit and remind the group before the visit that exhibits must not be touched.
Photography is permitted in Design Museum. This may be a positive aspect when planning the visit. Enquire in advance if the group wants to bring along sandwiches or box lunches. A separate space will be reserved for the purpose.
GUIDED TOURS AT THE MUSEUM
You get more out of an exhibition when you explore it with a professional guide. During a guided tour, we marvel and explore together and discuss the essence of design and how it affects things around us. You can pick the exhibitions that are of interest to your group and join us for a tour, guided by a professional guide at the museum.

WORKSHOPS FOR EDUCATIONAL GROUPS
Design Museum offers workshops for children and young people from daycare centres and primary, secondary and upper secondary schools.

Free entrance for persons under 18 and for teachers or assisting personnel arriving with a group. Please note. It is a good idea to have several supervising persons for groups of small children.
Studio
In Design Museum’s Studio you can engage in design and creating form on your own in connection with the themes of current exhibitions. The Studio can be reserved for holding design-related teaching sessions in the winter season.
Studio’s temporary exhibitions offer a look at the design ideas of children and young people and various design education projects.
