In the Lunch Talk we get to know about the making of Tomi Leppänen‘s Tauko Paus Pause exhibition, which won the Graphic Designer of the Year award, on the opening day. Tauko Paus Pause opened in the Gallery of the Design Museum on 24 March 2023. Interviewing Tomi Leppänen is freelance writer Hanna-Katariina Mononen. Can we appreciate emptiness? Has all the design already been designed? Can nothingness be a message in itself? In the discussion, we will hear about the origin of the Tauko Paus Pause exhibition and the processes of the design work. Leppänen and Mononen also discuss the different roles of the designer, unsold advertising spots and “nothing.”
