How can we arouse interest towards the built environment? What kind of tools can museums offer for citizens to support active participation and care for the environment and for cultural heritage? What are the design solutions that support learning in the museum? And how can we achieve an open, encouraging and respectful learning climate in museums?
These questions, among others will be discussed in the seminar that seizes the theme of Helsinki Design Week, Learning Climate, from the museums’ point of view. The seminar will offer views to learning architecture and design in museums. It invites professionals from museums, education, design and architecture to consider environments and spaces for learning from the design perspective.
The keynote will be presented by Sevra Davis, FRSA, Head of Learning, Design Museum London. Othet speakers include Minna Raitmaa, Head of Public Programmes, Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma and Outi Kuittinen, Senior Expert, Demos Helsinki.
