Design Museum permanent Collection Exhibition “Finnish Form” presents the history of applied art and design in Finland from the late 19th century to the present day. Design is an important factor of Finnish culture. The exhibition features the main designers, manufacturers and changes in the Finnish way of life in different periods.
The Museum of Applied Arts was founded in 1873 as the teaching collection of the Crafts School maintained by the Finnish Society of Crafts and Design. Design Museum, its successor, is now an internationally operating museum of design that keeps a national collection in its field.
